Vulcain: The Watch for Presidents
Not many deserve the prestigious title ‘The Watch for Presidents’ and Vulcain most certainly earned it. Stemmed from humble beginnings, Vulcain has risen to the top through outstanding innovations and creative designs. They are the inventors of the alarm complication for wristwatches and are the first to have their watches consistently worn by American Presidents, thus, earning them their much-deserved title: ‘The Watch for Presidents’.
In 1947, Vulcain presented the world’s first truly functional alarm wristwatch to the public and gained massive support and positive reactions and from then on, they have solidified their name in the history of watchmaking. In fact, the watch was such a hit it appealed to not just the public but to Presidents such as Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and Lyndon Johnson. This led to a tradition of US Presidents receiving a Vulcain watch during their term of presidency.
But words are never enough to convince collectors and connoisseurs so let’s take a look at one of their collections, the Vulcain Golden Voice.
This collection sports a rather minimalistic design and radiates an air of class. The simple dial has only the 12th hour indices marked in Arabic numeral, with the rest being a simple mark to indicate the hour of the day. The hour indices are stainless steel, similarly, the case is also made of stainless steel, which pairs swimmingly with the black leather strap which exudes sophistication. In addition to all that, it also has the iconic Vulcain cricket alarm complication within it, which sounds loud enough to actually wake people up.
Vulcain makes truly refined timepieces and if you would want to see some more of them, click here to view them and consider booking an appointment with us to experience it!
