By Timepiece Atelier on Jun 7th 2021
At first glance, this looks like a total ordinary Vulcain watch, a classic model that Vulcain had been producing since the last 50 years. So, how would this unorthodox mechanical hand-winding watch stand under our scrutiny? Without further ado, let’s take an in-depth review of the timepiece.
The Vulcain Golden voice collection is distinguished by a new gentle and discreet sound heralding a fascinating new chapter in the history of the famous Vulcain Cricket Calibre. Two new references quiver to the sound of this latest development. The round Vulcain Golden Voice represents the very epitome of a classic watch and its understated beauty; while the square Golden Voice model is directly in line with the current trend towards shaped watches and meets the expectations of a youthful urban clientele.
Housed in a 39mm round case model and 34.90mm x 47.80mm for the square model, both timepieces caters to the many watch aficionados as they can be worn for all occasions. On top of that, it can look attractive on both females and males as the shape of the watch doesn’t look overwhelmingly feminine or masculine. The case and the lugs of the watch are built from a solid block of steel which in turn forms a robust case that is extremely durable and resistant to scratches.
In addition, the Vulcain Golden Voice’s face is nicely crafted with a sunburst pattern that reflects light gently and seamlessly translates onto the sleek hands of the watch, making the steel hands sparkle occasionally. The dial embraces a classically minimalist arrangement with baton-shaped indexes and an Arabic numeral at the 12 o’clock point. The crown of the watch is grooved to allow a firmer and easier grip. Alternatively, the round case comes with a guilloche grey dial that keeps the wearer mesmerized on the watch.
This timepiece is not suitable for swimming or diving as it has a water resistance of 50m. Nonetheless, you can use it in the office or any time of the day as it has an alarm function and would vibrate to remind you of an appointment or to keep you on track. Furthermore, it generates a soft and delicate sound instead of a shrieking sound of an actual alarm, so you won’t have to worry about it bothering your colleagues.
