Vulcain: Golden Heart
by Timepiece Atelier July 27th, 2021,
The Vulcain Golden Voice timepieces have been acclaimed for their exquisite mechanical alarm timepieces as well as their elegant styling. Therefore, Vulcain decided to spin off this collection by creating the Golden Heart Collection that allows wearers to gaze into the intricate craftsmanship that goes into creating a Vulcain in-house Cricket Alarm movement.
The story of a treasure unveiled via the Vulcain Golden Voice timepiece. For the first time in its history, Vulcain offers a glimpse into the intimate secrets of a unique movement – the Vulcain Cricket alarm Calibre. Exquisitely crafted, the Vulcain Cricket Calibre is distinguished by its meticulous finishing that includes bridges decorated with cotes de Geneve circular-grained or polished plates, and blue screws.
This eclectic elegance of the Vulcain Golden Heart begins in a 39mm full steel case, which means it will wear nicely. Inside the watch is the new Vulcain Cricket Calibre V-13 automatic movement which has a lot to appreciate. The movement is beautifully skeletonized which allows you to catch a glimpse of its beating “heart”. The skeleton is made by an insane assembly of 157 components which includes a double barrel for increased power that vibrates 18’800 per hour which gives a generous 42-hour power reserve. Similar to its predecessor, this timepiece has an alarm function that produces a bright and cheerful chime.
Giving further justice to the craftsmanship of this beautiful movement, Vulcain chose to exhibit the movement with a sapphire crystal case back window with its ingenuity, complexities and beauty of the watch in all its glory. The exhibition case back is also stylized by “V” for Vulcain.
Despite all these revolutionary complications, the Vulcain Golden Heart still looks robust and timeless. Its steel blue hands add a touch of colour to the grey skeleton dial creating a premium finishing. In addition, the red tip on the hour hand also acts as a totem for the signature Vulcain alarm feature. Also, it has a water resistance of 50 meters which means that it is suitable for every day wear. In addition, it is nicely paired with an alligator leather strap complete with steel safety folding clasp which feels soft, smooth, and quite flexible.
This had to be the most functional and practical tool complication that Vulcain has ever created. Now, if you’re a true connoisseur of watches, especially skeleton watches, you should add this to your wish list. This collection comes with two different tones-in black or silvered versions. To own this handsome timepiece, you have to pay a handsome price of S$5,094.00 at Sale Price. (S$8,490.00 original price).
