Vulcain Elapsed Time- The Aviator watch

by Timepiece Atelier on May 7th, 2021

Aviator timepieces have always been a watch aficionado’s favourite and a must have in their collection. These watches are equipped with many useful features, valued for their precision in timekeeping, and with their aviation/military heritage, they pretty much toughen up any wrist. However, with the massive presence of so many aviation timepieces in the world, is it hard to decide which watch to don on. Well, today let's take a look at how the Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time timepiece performs and see how it sets itself apart from the highly saturated watch market.

Certainly, the Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time watch is not the first aviation watch Vulcain had produced over the last few years. They have produced the iconic Aviator Dual time model which is a noteworthy timepiece. However, this time Vulcain embarked on a slightly different journey. They gave new crowns and a sportier personality to the Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time watches to resurrect itself once again in this competitive watch industry.

This model is endowed with an imposing double-back 42mm satin-brushed steel case. The ‘double membrane’ case back serves as a resonance chamber and ensures absolute water resistance to 100 metres. It is powered with the new Vulcain movement, the mechanical hand-wound double barrel Vulcain Cricket Calibre V-11 with hours, minutes, seconds, date at 6 o’clock and a loud alarm function that allows the wearers to hear the alarm underwater clearly. Furthermore, Vulcain also has a reputation for its dive watches and so the Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time watch displays a 60-minute inner turning bezel to allow wearers to keep track of time spent underwater. It is also activated by a lock down crown at 4 o’clock.

The Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time has a great aesthetic appearance. It has a classic silver/black and its sophistication is further reinforced by the metallic looking indices that look absolutely stunning under the light. The play on sophistication does not affect the instrument’s toughness but refines the watch more than one could expect. The watch is satisfyingly heavy, and the leather strap feels expensive on the wrist. There are several variations from sports leather to steel or a luxurious alligator leather strap.

Combined with their timekeeping precision with a super ultra-classy design, the Vulcain Aviator Cricket Elapsed Time is definitely a model you should add to your wish list. This watch is priced handsomely at a sale price of S$5,496.00 (S$9,160.00 Regular Price) from Timepiece Atelier.
